Light the Lanterns (also known as "Illumination Night" or "Legacy"), is a mysterious folk-rock song posted by Windows to Sky in 2019. It was discovered on a 1985 cassette labeled "Listen Today - Demo."

In 2019, YouTube user Windows to Sky first uploaded the song to his channel, which was discovered on a tape in the Los Angeles area from the mid 1980s labelled "Demo - Listen Today".^[1] In 2020, Windows To Sky made the song private after being harassed by another user who thought he had created it. Following that, he no longer wanted to assist with the search.^[2]

It is assumed that the song is about Martha's Vineyard, a Massachusetts island, as this island hosts an annual event known as Illumination Night, during which lanterns are lit.^[3]^[4]

Anna Byrne – Celebration: A Discogs listing for a single-sided cassette of LA folk singer Anna Byrne's 1983 recordings, limited to 50 copies.^[9] Research revealed that Anna had been playing in Folk Clubs in the Los Angeles/San Francisco area since 1970.^[10] Unfortunately, the owner of the tape was contacted and confirmed that it was not the same song.^[11]
