I Know is an unidentified electronic-cabaret song that was originally sourced from a website called Неизвеcтные пеcни (Unknown songs), a Russian website dedicated to sharing lost music which is owned by a person named Sergey Pitersky. The song is extremely distorted and low quality, making the lyrics and genre difficult to identify.

Background[edit | edit source]

Sometime before July 1st, 2009, but after March 17th, 2009, the song was uploaded to the Russian website Нeизвecтные пеcни, which is dedicated to identifying lost songs, and the filename on the site was "I No (Full Version)".[1] Currently, the song is still hosted on the website in a folder called "Unknown western songs and instrumentals".[2][3]

On November 26th, 2010, the song was first reuploaded by WatZatSong user frame13245, who linked to the full version from the Нeизвеcтные пеcни website.[4]

On January 25th, 2013, a user named vladimir_a uploaded a higher-quality version of the song to the music forum tunnel.ru.[5][6] He claims to be the original owner of the cassette the song was on,[7] and believes it was released between 1972 and 1975.[8]

On November 2nd, 2022, the song was featured in a compilation of lost Russian music called "Mix of lost masterpieces" on YouTube, which used a different quality version of the song.[9]
