On January 6th, 2012, WatZatSong user crasekdab posted the song without providing any information about where they got it, and the post received no attention.[1]

The song first gained attention on November 8th, 2023, when it was reuploaded by YouTube user Mike Worst.[2]

As early as February 21st, 2024, the song was being correctly attributed by searchers to music duo Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé due to the close similarities in music style.[3][4]

Discovery[edit | edit source]

On May 3rd, 2024, Discord user TriCavity identified the song as We the People Need Love by Steve & Eydie, which was released in 1972 on the album This Is Steve & Eydie Vol. 2. The group that discovered it spent four months looking for the song.[5][6]
