Wit & Wendy (formerly known as "Something That's Long Gone") is a solved lostwave by British indie-rock band Iris, which was first uploaded to WatZatSong by user Sherka in 2014

Background[edit | edit source]

On January 11, 2014, the song was first posted by WatZatSong user Sherka, who claimed that he recorded the song in 1993, and the post received no attention.[1]

The song first gained attention on August 15, 2023, when it was reuploaded by YouTube user mckiddie.[2] The song's filename was "93 fev side 54.mp3", so it was dated to February 1993 or earlier because the OP was French and Février means February in French.[3]

Discovery[edit | edit source]

On February 26, 2024, Discord user marktrail discovered the song after purchasing several singles from a French seller on Discogs in an attempt to find songs posted by French WatZatSong poster CentralMuzik. The collection included an EP called Appendix by a British band called Iris, and they were able to identify the song as Wit & Wendy by Iris.[4][5]
