On June 11, 2020, the song was uploaded to the music identification website Spirit of Radio by user Jay as a 23 second snippet.[2] Jay claimed he recorded it in the Baltimore area between 1985 and 1991, and it was played either on the radio station WCVT (Towson University) or WHFS.[2] The song was reuploaded twice by the OP, once on January 28, 2021[3] and again on September 22, 2021.[4]
