Discovery[edit | edit source]
On June 6th, 2024, YouTube user DavidBaronMusic commented on a reupload of another lost song that he was responsible for, called Joe Will Never Be The Same, confirming that he created the song while he was a music student to be played on WFMU, and it was played as a favor by his friend and DJ Bill Berger.[2] He also confirmed that the song is called "Ocean"[3] and that the song was recorded in 1986.[4][5]
He is currently waiting for his Tascam 244 tape deck to be repaired before posting the full song, as it is the only way his master cassette will be playable so it can be ripped and uploaded online.[6]

Presumed Lyrics |
You know you’ve got to believe me
I ain’t tellin’ no lies Love ain’t a word on the bookshelf That I pull out when I’m high I see no reason to leave you I’ll always be by your side And never think of me, darling As a short-lived prize Sympathy is not for me And I have not a jealousy Take me down to the sea to stay (to stay) We could live by the ocean In a cottage no doubt We could run by the moonlight Makin’ music ourselves And I’ll come home at night And you’ll be there with me Am I dreamin’ now I just want you to see (Synth Solo) You know you’ve got to believe me I ain’t tellin’ no lies Love ain’t a word on the bookshelf That I pull out when I’m high |
