Presumed Lyrics |
(Intro)
Down Wall Street no-one’s dancing, 'cause they haven’t got the time Everybody’s tryin' to beat that clock (Verse 1) Well, I lost my automatic, on the 59th Street Bridge But I do not feel a poor girl You might say I’m kind of rich But I don’t need that money alibi (Chorus) Why why why? Why why why? But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy Why why why? Why why why? Living your life for the dime with no aim is a crime Tell me why! Tell me why! Beat that clock! (Scat Singing) Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy (Verse 2) Well I’m bound to be a poor girl When it comes to bank accounts But I find out it is money That makes the world go ‘round And there’s love instead of cash within my eyes (Chorus) Why why why? Why why why? But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy Why why why? Why why why? Living your life for the dime with no aim is a crime Beat that clock! Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? Why why why? But there really are some good things, that money just can’t buy |
