On April 17th, 2016, the song was first uploaded by WatZatSong user TipoDual, who claimed to have recorded it directly from a mall radio.[1]

On July 3rd, 2020, Reddit user UnluckyDayOfMe shared an extended snippet of the song on r/tipofmytongue, claiming that it was released between 2000 and 2015 and was similar to Evanescence's 2003 song "Bring Me To Life".[2]

On December 28th, 2021, TipoDual posted a complete high quality version of the song to their YouTube channel.[3]

On July 19th, 2024, TipoDual posted a video of the song being played in a shopping mall in Moscow, Russia,[4] and UnluckyDayOfMe claimed that the song was played in a shopping mall in Siberia, a region of Russia.[5]

On July 24th, 2024, the song was identified by WatZatSong user funado2 after they contacted the song's writer, Dana Calitri, who confirmed the song's title as Frozen by Cassidy Ladden.[6][7]
