On December 3rd 2020, Armador Thrash tweeted asking for help with finding an unknown metal song recorded from Z-Rock in 1987. They tagged the user Metalattackers in hopes that they would spread it and other enthusiasts would remember the song. A day later, discussion about the song moved to back to the HMR Forums, where it was suggested that the lyrics could be searched on the Metal Archives. When this proved fruitless, the song was uploaded to Youtube. User Poserkiller suggested the song could be "Fall of the King" by Redd Barron, giving the song its placeholder name. On the 15th of December, the Youtube upload was shared to the Cult Metal Classics Facebook page.

Haven was a band discussed in the 2020 HMR Forums posts that was also quickly debunked. Another group, Z-Rose was brought up as a possible lead, however by 2021, this had been debunked by reaching out to members of the band.

Fall of the King is a hard lostwave to reaserch confirmed information about as many leads have been raised without follow up and a lot of bands cannot be contacted or haven't been contacted, so most threads are left dangling. For example, the band Blackmayne was raised as a possibility but could not be contacted on Facebook, leading to the theory only being debunked by circumstantial evidence rather than rebuttal.

Currently a Californian band called Draggone, formally named Zion, is being investigated, with a song called "Glory to the King" from 1987 being attributed to them.
