"Wait Forever" (also known as "So Different") is an unidentified synthpop song, first discovered by nakkiel7 on Soulseek and tagged as In Tensions - Wait Forever.

Background

On November 1st, 2011, the song was first posted on YouTube by user nakkiel7, who explained that he downloaded the song off of Soulseek tagged as In Tensions - Wait Forever, and that it was sent to him by a friend.[1][2]

On February 23rd, 2013, YouTube user scientronik uploaded a lower quality version of the song to YouTube also under the name In Tension - Wait Forever, presumably after downloading it from Soulseek or a similar file sharing service.[3] The image in the video is the album art for the band Ceramic Hello's unrelated single Climatic Nouveaux.[4]

On April 5th, 2019, user pop80s commented on nakkiel7's upload, claiming that the song was from a German cassette tape compilation featuring local musicians. This is not confirmed, but the OP liked the posts.[5]

Debunked

  • Bad Intentions - Act So Different: On March 21st, 2024, user martinarkona commented on scientronik's upload, claiming that it was called Act So Different (1987/1988) by Bad Intentions, an alleged Belgian "hobby project" by siblings Maggie and Joseph Dupont.[6][7] This is most likely a hoax, as the OP never provided any proof of his claims or explained how he contacted the band, and there is no mention of the band online or in any Belgian song databases.
  • Lanaunreleased: Hoaxer putting a false name for the song on Spotify.[8]
