|[Verse 1]

Another song, the same beat
Another song, the same beat

You’re looking down at the same shoes on your feet
You’re looking down the same shoes on your feet

I know you feel unoriginal

Never sayin, never sayin what you mean

Since you thought he stopped loving you

Goes back and broke your heart in two

You need to let go

You know you do

[Bridge]

Honey get your shit together

Better get your shit together

Honey get your shit together ‘cause you’re better than that

[Chorus]

One love

We only got one love

You only got one heart, don’t break it

Only one chance so take it

If life is the question, love is the answer

You better wake up before it ends

We only got one love so make it

Only one word, just say it

One love

[Verse 2]

Another fork in the down? road

Another choice, can you make it on your own?

But all the tears kill you if you don't

Let it smile, let it smile through the pain

If you can work on loving you

Somebody else will love you too

You need to let go

You know you do

[Chorus]

One love

We only got one love

You only got one heart, don’t break it

Only one chance so take it

If life is the question, love is the answer

You better wake up before it ends

We only got one love so make it

Only one word, just say it

[Bridge]

Honey get your shit together

Better get your shit together

Honey get your shit together

Better get your shit together

Honey get your shit together

Better get your shit together

Honey get your shit together

Better get your shit together

[Chorus]

One love

We only got one love

You only get one heart, don’t break it

Only one chance so take it

If life is the question, love is the answer

You better wake up before it ends

We only got one love so make it

"One Love" is a song misattributed to Barbadian band Cover Drive.

Background

The earliest known upload was on October 6th, 2013 to the website onlyvibe.com[1], and was uploaded to YouTube one day later by user Samira Korcheni, who claimed to have downloaded the song from a website called ILoveRNBMusic.com, which shut down one month before the song's first known upload.

The song spread around the internet, being uploaded to several obscure MP3 downloading websites[2][3][4][5] and aired on an Indonesian radio station called Memora Radio in November 2014[6]. However, because all of these sources were reuploads of the original which credited Cover Drive, they provide little to no information about the musician who created the song.

Cover Drive have repeatedly denied any involvement with the song[7]

Leads

The moderator of the r/OneLoveUnknownSong subreddit believes the song is Canadian, specifically naming Kristina Maria[8] as a likely singer. The songwriter Krysta Youngs was also named[9], but this is debunked as she didn't know the song.[10]

It is speculated that the singer may be of Caribbean or Afro-Caribbean background, as Cover Drive originated in Barbados, so similar-sounding artists would share a similar background.[11]

Unconfirmed leads include Kristina Maria[12], girl group The Party[13] and hip-hop band My Crazy Girlfriend[14].

Several hoaxes have been created for this song, most notably a user named "maelynn" getting their name added to Shazam in an attempt to monetize the music and claim song rights.[15]
