Again and Again is a currently unsolved lostwave, posted by Youtube user Derek Coward.

Background

Sometime in 2013, a YouTube user named Derek Coward uploaded a mysterious song recorded from a radio in the late 80s/early 90s. Derek set the video to private sometime before September 19th, 2020.[1]

In November 2019, reddit user OrphanTwin shared the song on r/NameThatSong[2] and WatZatSong[3], which helped the search gain popularity among the lostwave community. According to a post by OrphanTwin, the original OP was in touch with the original DJ of the radio station from which he recorded the song, and the DJ doesn't remember the name of the track.[4]

The fact that "ass" is muted on the vocal track indicates that this song had a radio edit, which means it was assigned to a label that wanted to promote it on the radio.[5]

Lyrics

The lyrics most commonly agreed upon are:

(Verse 1)

So, you want to star in a metaphor?

You're the china shop bull, not the matador

Ridin' the curbs, (trimming off the ball?)

No doubt, excuse me, grumpy

It's a go!

Turbo wipeout, wipeout

(Chorus)

Living life in the passing lane,

Being unique

Again and again and again and again,

Again and again and again and again and again

(Verse 2)

You're the hunter, zebra crossing the beast

Driving paid to present (Payton Crescent?), like you're out on the piste,

Shakespeare, Einstein, Aristotle may have thought at speed,

But you can cruise faster than you can read

Can you read?

(Chorus)

Living life in the passing lane,

Being unique

Again and again and again and again

Again and again and again and again and again

(Verse 3)

Listen to me, Biggles, you bust enough dams!

Now clear your cloudy mind, forget your overhead cams

Enough of the wordplay, I'm going to get crass

You're not fit to wipe my underpass!

Kiss my ***

(Chorus)

Livin' life in the passing lane,

Being unique

Again and again and again and again,

Again and again and again and again,

Again and again and again and again,

Again and again and again and again and again!
