Saddam Thumping (formerly "Let's Hunt Him Down"), is a parody of Tubthumping by the British alternative rock band Chumbawamba, which was misattributed to "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Background

In July 2001, the song was first mentioned on a "music humor" site called amiright.com, where the lyrics were published and the song was mislabeled as Suddam by Dandaman.[1]

In 2002, the song made an appearance on the Not Al list, a list of songs misattributed to Weird Al Yankovic on file sharing sites, and was credited as Saddam Hussein (Chumbawumba parody).[2]

Discovery

On June 9th, 2024, Reddit user Intelligent-Chip2608 discovered the song on an archived version of the WIYY 98 Rock Baltimore radio station's website from 1998.[3][4] Kirk, Mark, and Lopez, three of the station's radio personalities, wrote the song, and released it on their 1998 album Number Two.[5]
