On January 26th, 2008, the song was first uploaded to YouTube under the title Mystery Song... Can You Identify It? by user KatePevensie, who recorded it in 2003 on the Sci-Fi Channel from an advertisement showcasing films scheduled to premiere in 2004.[1]
On December 2nd, 2008. the commercial featuring the song was first posted to YouTube in low quality by user Forevermore33.[2]
On December 12th, 2020, a high quality version of the commercial and song were included in a December 2003 Sci-Fi Channel commercial compilation uploaded by YouTube user Suprb6970.[3]
The song is made up of different samples. On September 18th, 2021, YouTube user asolollol1866 discovered on September 18th, 2021.[4] that one of the song's samples was utilized in Wes Madiko's 1996 song Wezale.[1] This song was also featured in the songs Kingdom by Mars Lasar (2003)[5] and Spirit Zen by Phobos (2005).[6] Two other original parts of the mashup remains unidentified so far.[6]
