Above Me is an unidentified post-punk song sourced from WatZatSong user NY80sTapes' collection of short radio snippets recorded in the early 1980s.
Background
On June 10, 2023, user Kenny Cathead (NY80sTapes) first uploaded the song to YouTube as part of a compilation of short snippets of various songs recorded from the radio.[1] On June 22, 2023, WatZatSong user NY80sTapes posted the song and stated that it was recorded in 1984, later uploading the full 44-second recording on June 29, 2023.[2] This song was most likely recorded from a New York or New Jersey radio station,[3] and based on the OP's other found songs, it may have originally released between 1977 and 1985.[4]
