Fairlight Demo is an unidentified experimental song sourced from WatZatSong user NY80sTapes' collection of short radio snippets recorded in the early 1980s.
Background
On June 10, 2023, user Kenny Cathead (NY80sTapes) first uploaded the song to YouTube as part of a compilation of short snippets of various songs recorded from the radio.[1]
On July 9, 2023, WatZatSong user NY80sTapes posted the song and stated that it sounds like a demo of the Fairlight Computer Musical Instrument,[2] an electronic music sampler and digital synthesizer released in 1979.[3] This song was most likely recorded from a New York or New Jersey radio station between 1980 and 1986,[4] and based on the OP's other found songs, it may have originally released between 1977 and 1985.[5]
