The Memory Of You is a solved lostwave by British singer-songwriter Robbie Craig, and written by Paul Barry, Gary Miller, Steve Torch, and Peter Waterman as a demo for the German band No Mercy. The song originated from a video posted by a YouTube bot account named Manis Studio.

Background[edit | edit source]

On June 10, 2019, the song was first posted by a YouTube channel called Manis Studio,[1] a bot which posts Indonesian celebrity gossip videos with obscure, often completely unreleased songs written by Gary Miller as background music, sourced from a music database known as VHF Production Music.[2]

On June 25, 2019, Reddit user Sweguin uploaded the song to r/NameThatSong, after discovering the original 1:48 second snippet Manis Studio uploaded while using PetitTube, a website that displays random YouTube videos with low view counts.[3]

The song first gained attention in the Lostwave community on June 28, 2020, when it was first reuploaded by YouTube user LostwaveFinder.[4] On October 3, 2020,[5] the full version of the song was discovered after using a bot to search the Manis Studio channel for the song and discovering that it was uploaded on August 2, 2019.[6]

Discovery[edit | edit source]

On July 25, 2024, the song was identified as "The Memory Of You" by Robbie Craig, after Discord user Funado contacted Craig upon noticing that his vocals sounded similar to the lost song.[7]
