Trip To Rio is an unsolved lostwave that was recorded from German radio in 1987, and was first uploaded to YouTube in November 2021

Background

In 2002, René uploaded a snippet of the song to his website DeDiniDevil.de. He claims to have recorded it off the radio in October 1987 and remembers the artist's name as Base Bazaar.[1]

On November 25th, 2021, the OP uploaded the full recording to YouTube, and adds that he possibly recorded the song from Radio ffn in Lower Saxony, Germany, or HR 3 in Hesse, Germany.[2]

As of May 26th, 2024, Reddit user MJIgaz4 is searching through the archives and obtaining recordings from digiandi.de, which hosts archives of Radio ffn and HR 3 broadcasts.[3][4] On May 29th, 2024, MJIgaz4 received two full recordings of HR 3 broadcasts from October 4th and 9th 1987, but they did not include the song.[5][6]
