H-Bomb is an unidentified anti-war rockabilly song from the 1950s that appeared on the compilation Rockin' Acetates in 1998 and was labeled as unknown by the compilation's creators.
Background
The song made its only known appearance on a Dutch compilation album of obscure American rockabilly acetates called "Rockin' Acetates", which was released by Collector Records in 1998. The songs on the album range from the early 1950s to the mid 1960s, and many had never been released before this compilation.[1] The lyrics of the song deal with the Cold War-era paranoia of a nuclear conflict, and similar songs from the 1950s were unreleased due to the potential controversy of criticizing nuclear policies.[2]
Lyrics
Now here's a little story that I would like to tell
It's about this big old world and how it's gonna swell
There's been many times that it's tried to explode
Because of 2 big wars, it tried to unload
It's called H-bomb
Now the worst old war that we'll ever see
Will start with one big bomb from over the sea
So please take heed to what I have to say
Keep this thing from happening that awful way
It's called H-bomb
Now the worst old war that we'll ever see
Will start with one big bomb from over the sea
So please take heed to what I have to say
Keep this thing from happening that awful way
It's called H-bomb
It's called H-bomb
