Edge Of A Dream is a solved pop-rock song recorded between 1997 and 1998 by the American rock duo Cindy and Charlie Wilson, which was sold to a stock music library called DSM Producers. It was used in the 1998 TV movie Nightmare Street.

Background

On October 11th, 2011, user Garage101 mentioned the song for the first time on the internet in a thread dedicated to song identification on the Russian website IXBT.com. The OP claimed that he discovered the song in the 1998 TV movie Nightmare Street, but the end credits do not say who composed the music.[1]

The song was first uploaded to WatZatSong by user tellz on September 4th, 2016 with no information,[2] before being reposted to WatZatSong on October 8th, 2016 by user anikinvitaly, who correctly credited the song to the film.[3]

Sometime before September 2022, the song was first reuploaded to YouTube by user JayKay.[4]

Discovery

On September 10th, 2022, Reddit user NovaMannyBoy pointed out that the film's music editor was listed in the credits as Nancy Severinsen.[5]

On March 27th, 2024, Nancy Severinsen was contacted and stated that the song was from a defunct music library called DSM Producers.[6] A copyright registry was quickly found for a DSM Producers song called Edge Of A Dream, listing Charlie Wilson and Cindy Wilson as performers.[7]

On April 1st, 2024, this listing was confirmed to be the song used in the movie after contacting Suzan J. Bader, the president of DSM Producers Inc.[8] Despite not having the full song due to an inability to contact Cindy or Charlie Wilson, the lostwave community declared the song solved on September 27th, 2024, citing overwhelming evidence.[9]
