Background
The song was first posted onto WatZatSong by user "eva99" on April 9th, 2021. eva99 gave a Vocaroo sample due to WatZatSong's 30 second limit. The song had originated from a burnt old CD that the OP had.
Discovery (March 22nd, 2024 - present)
On March 22nd, 2024, user leerose found "Laila Samuels - Such A Pity" through an ASCAP search. After contacting her, she confirmed being the artist behind the song, but she didn't have the full recording of the song.
On June 2024, Laila was sent the full recording of the song by a family friend who has it recorded on a CD. She claimed that she might be able to release it "this summer", but this has yet to happen. She later said in September that she would release it in a few months.
On September 25, 2024, user fandroidfan2002 confirmed the recording year of Such A Pity in 1999 (25 Years ago).
