That's The Magic (also known as "W•H•A•T") is an unidentified pop song sourced from a Japanese S-VHS tape called "The World of High Quality", which was used to demonstrate the image quality of the HR-S7000 VCR.

Background[edit | edit source]

On February 20th, 2024, the song was first uploaded to WatZatSong by user windlamp.[1] He claimed to have found the song on a Sony digital voice recorder, likely from the 2000s, which he bought from a Goodwill in Northern California.[2]

On May 16th, 2024, the original source of the audio was discovered to be from a promotional tape called "W•H•A•T: The World of High Quality", that was given away with Panasonic/Victor S-VHS tape decks in Japan, and it had no identifying information about the song.[3][4]

The model in the video is believed to be Victoria Lockwood, a British fashion model and former wife of Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, Princess Diana's brother.[5]
