Hunters And Prey (also known as "Merciless") is an unidentified hard rock song that was misattributed to Brazilian power metal band Angra on peer-to-peer file sharing websites in the 2000s, and was first uploaded to YouTube by user MarkusKms.

Background[edit | edit source]

On August 6th, 2011, the song was first uploaded by YouTube user MarkusKms, who provided no information about where he got the song.[1] On November 30th, 2014, YouTube user AlexandreSK807 commented that they downloaded the song from the file sharing website Kazaa with the file name "Hunters And Prey" misattributed to the Brazilian power metal band Angra,[2] who have an unrelated song called Hunters And Prey from 2002.[3]

On June 27th, 2021, the song was posted to WatZatSong by user Music9, who claimed to have downloaded it from the file-sharing website Ares in 2004 with the name "Hunters And Prey".[4] Ares was released in mid-2002,[5] and the Angra EP Hunters and Prey was released on June 24th, 2002,[6] so the song is probably no older than June 2002.
