I Was a Fool In Love (also known as "I Was A Fool") is an unidentified new wave song first uploaded to the New Wave Outpost forums in 2012 by user Guglielm.

Background[edit | edit source]

On August 23rd, 2012, the song was first posted to the New Wave Outpost forums by user Guglielm as part of a collection of lost songs, but it did not gain much traction.[1]

On July 12th, 2013, the song was uploaded to WatZatSong by user Guglielm,[2] before being reuploaded on August 30th, 2014 to add that the song was possibly named In a Variety of Love, I Was a Fool.[3] Based on the OP's other found songs, this song was most likely recorded between 1980 and 1983, and recorded from the WFMU New Jersey radio station.[4]

The song was most likely written before December 1983, as WFMU's general manager, Ken Freedman, who joined WFMU in December 1983, was contacted and did not recognize the song.[3][5]
