Stay By My Side (also known as Dream Your Dream or Dusk Tonight), is an unsolved lostwave song posted on WatZatSong by konstantinos in 2008 and discovered on a disco compilation tape from Greece.
Background[edit | edit source]
On March 5th, 2008, user Jugge uploaded a 0:49 snippet of the song without the intro to the song identification website spiritofradio.ca.[1] On December 22nd of the same year, WatZatSong user Konstantinos uploaded the song's intro, then shared the full version one day later via the now-defunct file sharing service zshare, which he claimed was too fast,[2] before sharing an updated link on February 28th, 2009.[3]
The same day, Konstantinos would post links to his lost songs, including Stay By My Side, to the doyouremember forums, claiming that the recordings were sourced from old tapes from Greek discothèques.[4] He posted these links to several other song identification sites, including tapatalk.com[5] and minimalwave.com,[6] but nobody in the threads had any leads.
On March 2nd, 2021, Konstantinos reuploaded the full version of the song, explaining that he bought the song on a cassette tape from a flea market between 1994 and 2004, and that he would specifically collect recordings from discotheques and pirate radio stations. He also revealed that he sold his entire record collection between 2010 and 2011, and no longer owns the original tape.[3]
