Pull Up Fo Fo Da Fo Fo or Halloween Song, is an unidentified 3-second joke rap video. It features a man rapping in a parking lot as a green-screen skeleton comically runs by in the foreground. The rap audio is likely not part of the original video.
Background[edit | edit source]
The origins of the "Halloween Song" can be traced back to February 22, 2022, with its earliest known appearance in a video uploaded by a now deleted Discord user.[1][2][3] The original creator of this upload remains unidentified, and it is speculated that the video may have circulated on Instagram prior to its Discord upload. The identity of the person in the video (who may be a famous rapper or a TikTok user) and the filming location are both unknown.
The earliest uncropped YouTube upload dates back to March 26, 2023, uploaded by "GAMEING ING".
The song gained significant popularity following an upload by YouTube user Lostwave's Unfinest on April 14, 2024, and an upload by Q on October 1, 2024, under the title "Halloween Song." These particular uploads catalyzed the song's wider recognition and circulation.
Further investigation revealed that the song's instrumental track is based on a royalty-free beat called "What If" by the artist "ChopStix Ronnie", published on SoundCloud on October 4, 2019. This same beat has been utilized in various other musical compositions.[4]
False Leads[edit | edit source]
In late 2023, a video surfaced on YouTube titled "Halloween Just The Facts Full Song"[5], posted by a user named "Possibly." According to the uploader's account, they discovered the track after receiving a text about a hack of Steve Lacy's SoundCloud account. The song was allegedly leaked briefly during this breach but was quickly removed before anyone could save it, with even the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine failing to capture it.
The uploader claimed that after two days of searching, they located the audio on an obscure Chinese forum, where it had been posted on the same day as the original leak. They managed to download it before it was deleted from that site as well.
However, skeptics questioned the authenticity of this story. Many suggested the YouTube post was an elaborate hoax, pointing out that the audio bore hallmarks of being generated by Suno AI rather than being a genuine Steve Lacy track. Others also noted that the original snippet, which would have helped verify authenticity, was conspicuously absent from this version. These factors led many to conclude that both the audio and the story behind it were fabricated.
