Eastern Wind is an unidentified soft rock song that was recorded from German radio in 1986, and was first uploaded to the internet in 2002 by user René on his website DeDiniDevil.de. The song is a cover of Eastern Wind by the British/Irish singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh.

Background[edit | edit source]

In 2002, René uploaded a 1:02 snippet of the song to his website DeDiniDevil.de. He claimed to have recorded it off the radio in mid 1986 and first confirmed that the song was a cover of Eastern Wind by Chris de Burgh.[1]

Between 2008 and 2009, spiritofradio.ca user René R (not to be confused with the OP) uploaded the song to the site two times in an attempt to identify it,[2][3] and he was the first person to upload it to YouTube on March 30th, 2015.[4]

On December 4th, 2021, the OP uploaded his full recording of the song to YouTube, and adds that he possibly recorded the song from NDR 1 in Lower Saxony, Germany, or HR 3 in Hesse, Germany.[5]
