Talk:Oceania
Add topicThe song is not by DCD. The audio "proof" is just the audio we already have instead of an alternative performance. It would be a different take if it truly was an earlier performance from 1988. Also they said that Oceania is mentioned on DCD's site when it bluntly isn't. I gave the proof in the previous edits that you reverted.
- The Oceania part at audio on Vocaroo is clearly shorter than what we have on the bootleg CD (like 10-20 seconds), so it can't be the same. Another argument proving that it's from DCD is that the next song after Oceania is Awakening (you can clearly hear it from 20:10 on Vocaroo snippet), just exactly like on the tracklist of MusicBrainz. What comes to DCD site, maybe it's not the official site of DCD, but still it was mentioned on it. --LB-LM (talk) 19:18, 17 May 2024 (EDT)
- No, it's the exact same audio with the exact same cheers in the background. And just because there is a song called awakening, doesn't mean the song is by DCD. It just means there is another incorrect credit. The Wings - Wild Wonders tape has 10 songs credited to them, but that doesn't mean all 10 are really by Wings. And it's not on the official DCD site, that's what I'm pointing out. The source they are getting their information from is not trustworthy. There is no trustworthy source that states the song is by DCD. -Ziro
Also you can hear a fade between Oceania & Awakening. They probably aren't from the same concert
- I don't know how you noticed it, but clearly is not that. The bootleg one has a duration of 20:30 seconds, meanwhile the Vocaroo one has 19:20. It's a ONE minute of difference, it's when the both starts on the almost same time like a difference of a second. What comes to Awakening, it's clearly appeared on DCD concerts. Like ten times both mentioned as a DCD track, including the bootleg, YouTube videos, all possible websites, Reddit posts and even track list is clearly matches. What comes to DCD site, you can find the mentions on "AUTUMNDAY IN PARIS - Elysee Montmartre Paris France 05.12.1988 (2CD-Set)" and "10.12.1988 - Audimax Hamburg Germany (2CD-Set)" sections. If these all proofs that I'm providing isn't enough to be trustworthy then Idk what to say... --LB-LM (talk) 19:51, 17 May 2024 (EDT)
What comes to the fade, it can just come from the speakers. --LB-LM (talk) 19:56, 17 May 2024 (EDT)
