'''Avail''' (previously known as '''"Waste My Time"''') is a solved lostwave by indie-rock band The Burns, recorded from Minsk radio in 2010 and first posted by WatZatSong user morback in 2013.

'''Waste My Time''' (often abbreviated as '''WMT''') is an unsolved lostwave. It was originally uploaded to WatZatSong on November 4, 2013 by morback. It was recorded from Minsk radio in 2010.

On November 5, 2013, WatZatSong user morback posted the song for the first time without providing any additional information, but it was removed for unknown reasons.<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20141002015733/http://www.watzatsong.com:80/en/name-that-tune/391658.html</ref> On October 11, 2014, morback added the entire song to the thread.<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20150129053646/http://www.watzatsong.com:80/en/name-that-tune/391658.html</ref>

== History ==
On December 15, 2014, user ID-Cancion reuploaded the song to YouTube,<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm5JWTBQ2YQ</ref> and morback reuploaded the song to WatZatSong on January 7, 2018, claiming that he recorded it from Belarusian radio station Indy Rock Radio in 2010.<ref>https://www.watzatsong.com/en/found/The+Burns-Avail-537199.html?page=3</ref>
The WatZatSong post only began receiving considerable attention in early 2023, when the first non-deleted comments were posted. Due to the heavy accent of the singer, nearly every single word of the song is highly debated upon. This makes the search especially difficult, rendering it a lostwave cold case, and chances of solving it look bleak. There are virtually no leads in the search.

The OP of Waste My Time, morback, claims the song abruptly stopped playing on radio in 2012, likely in cahoots with a law promoting Belarusian music on radio stations. This means the song is likely not from Belarus.
The song gained popularity in the lostwave community in June 2023, when it was first posted to r/lostwave by user Revolutionary_War443.<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/Lostwave/comments/14dkh1i/unknown_song_waste_my_time_reupload/</ref> Due to the singer's heavy accent, nearly every word of the song was heavily debated, which made the search more difficult.<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/WasteMyTime/comments/1b3f2o8/why_waste_my_time_may_be_from_another_country/</ref><ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/WasteMyTime/comments/1cs035o/is_it_actually_english/</ref>

Further correspondence with morback revealed that the song was most likely created by a non-Belarusian band, as it stopped airing on the radio in 2012, and Belarus had a law requiring 75% of music broadcast each day to be Belarusian.<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/WasteMyTime/comments/1ccy0r8/progress_is_slowly_being_made/</ref><ref>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_Belarus</ref>

Lonely smile, drink a while

Yes, still I believed in her
(Clothes hide?) how to picture us

Loving boy, it’s useless now
We're falling down, (head in?) (holding?) hands

I don’t see why you’re at peace
And it's too hard to live it up

Can’t see sign? Wake up
A lot of words are useless now

Aim the mirror for the sky
Oh, should I ignore the peace

Crossing roads and empty streets
Can't see the sign, wake up

In hyperreallis
I hit the mirror from the sky

Hidden somewhere, hidden deep
Busted roads and empty streets

You can never find it
(It hide where your road leads?)

Today, you’ll feel
It leads somewhere, hidden deep

How bad can it build
You will never find it

I’m so ANGERED
'''(Chorus)'''

Your heart is BLIND
Today, you'll (sear?)

Heartbreak in your dreams

I'm so unkind

Your (horrified?) heart is blind

I waste my time
I waste my time

Until it’s alright
I'm sure it's alright

You tried to find
You'll try to find

Some world you’re mine
Some (words?) in your mind

A lovely time, it’s alright
'''(Verse 2)'''

Write a letter, it’s touched you
A lot of the time, it’s alright

Great it feels, not too hard
Write a letter, (it's for sure?)

But if I leave, forget all this?
(Greater dreams?) not too hard

Show me Eden, cover up
But if I need (to come?) to this

But in the dark, you’ll be undressed
So late leaving covered up

Until the dark, I'll be undressed

There is nothing truly there
There is nothing truly there

The life goes on
(The fight goes wild?)

Today, you’ll feel
'''(Chorus)'''

How bad can it build
Today, you'll (sear?)

I’m so ANGERED!
Heartbreak in your dreams

Your heart is BLIND!
I'm so unkind

Your (horrified?) heart is blind

I waste my time
I waste my time

Until it’s alright
I'm sure it's alright

You tried to find
You'll try to find

Some world you’re mine
Some (words?) in your mind

Today, you’ll feel
'''(Chorus 2)'''

How bad can it build
Today, you'll (sear?)

I’m so ANGERED!
Heartbreak in your dreams

Your heart is BLIND!
I'm so unkind

Your (horrified?) heart is blind

I waste my time
I waste my time

Until it’s alright
I'm sure it's alright

You'll try to find

Some sense in my eyes

Avail (previously known as "Waste My Time") is a solved lostwave by indie-rock band The Burns, recorded from Minsk radio in 2010 and first posted by WatZatSong user morback in 2013.

Background

On November 5, 2013, WatZatSong user morback posted the song for the first time without providing any additional information, but it was removed for unknown reasons.[1] On October 11, 2014, morback added the entire song to the thread.[2]

On December 15, 2014, user ID-Cancion reuploaded the song to YouTube,[3] and morback reuploaded the song to WatZatSong on January 7, 2018, claiming that he recorded it from Belarusian radio station Indy Rock Radio in 2010.[4]

The song gained popularity in the lostwave community in June 2023, when it was first posted to r/lostwave by user Revolutionary_War443.[5] Due to the singer's heavy accent, nearly every word of the song was heavily debated, which made the search more difficult.[6][7]

Further correspondence with morback revealed that the song was most likely created by a non-Belarusian band, as it stopped airing on the radio in 2012, and Belarus had a law requiring 75% of music broadcast each day to be Belarusian.[8][9]

Discovery

On May 21, 2024, Reddit user TZilantro_Slumber identified the song as "Avail" by Russian indie-rock band The Burns after a previous band he had contacted in the search, Pompeya, responded to him with the full song after their bassist Denis Agafonov found the song's music video.[10][11]
