Background[edit | edit source]
On August 23rd, 2012, the song was first posted to the New Wave Outpost forums by user Guglielm as part of a collection of lost songs, but it did not gain much traction.[1]
On September 7th, 2014, the song was first reuploaded to WatZatSong by user Guglielm in a now deleted post, stating that the song was internally tagged as Network - I See Ghosts.[2] Based on the OP's other found songs, this song was most likely recorded between 1980 and 1984, and recorded from the WFMU New Jersey radio station.[3]
On August 4th, 2024, it was discovered that a song by a band called Network had a song from 1982 called Soldier Of Fortune, which aired on February 16th, 2006 on WFMU and had identical vocals and musical style to the lost song.[4][5]

Presumed Lyrics |
(Verse 1)
Deep into the night, I see the hollow of his voice across the room All across the wall, I see the dancing shadow howling at the moon (Pre-Chorus) They are waiting in my closet, stare me in the face Sometimes when I'm alone, and sometimes in a public place (Chorus) Oh, ghosts I see ghosts (Verse 2) Lying on my pillow is a vision that I do not understand Sometimes it's a hero and other times, it's just a man (Pre-Chorus) Skeletons inside my closet stare me in the face Sometimes when I'm alone and sometimes in a public place (Chorus) Oh, more ghosts Oh, ghosts are all around I see ghosts Oh, but no one can be found Oh, they won't let me live Till' I give all I can give to the ghosts. (Verse 3) A case full of resentments, I convinced myself that I deserve to own A shelf full of regrets for the times I never called you on the phone (Pre-Chorus) Carrying on my shoulders, the burdens of the past Someday I will be free of them and I'll be gone at last (Chorus) Oh, more ghosts Oh, ghosts are in my brain I see ghosts And they're driving me insane Oh, they won't let me live Till' I give all I can give to the ghosts. To the ghosts (Guitar Solo) Oh, more ghosts Oh, ghosts are all around I see ghosts But no one can be found Everyday I walk the line, but it's all inside my mind Oh, ghosts Oh, ghosts are in my brain, I see ghosts They are driving me insane Oh, they won't let me live Till' I give all I can give to the ghosts. To the ghosts Oh, to the ghosts (Outro) I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts I see ghosts |
