On April 3, 2024, a video posted by Reddit user u/AvantStory showed them playing a CD of a song attributed to the artist: “emails”. Upon playing the CD, it became apparent that Digital Girl was not on it, though the music had the same vibe. Just 50 minutes later, u/NotSureHowBigYouAre responded to the post claiming they had found the songs on AdvantStory’s CD on Soulseek, with two songs attributed to emails.

The OP of the snippet, haditonvinyl, was very active in the search, constantly answering questions. He even created a Discord server for the search.
When investigating NotSureHowBigYouAre’s account, searchers found that the account had been inactive for five years and furthermore, they had a post on their profile called “OnVinyl” which was later deleted. From here, the search focused on the hoax lead. Some of the clues in hadinonvinyl’s story included him giving three contradictory recording dates, and the fact that emails’ account on Instagram had changed its username five times.

== Lyrics ==
In a digital land, she's trapped pixel by pixel

Digital girl, longing for something real

Beneath the glowing screen, her hearts in a swirl

Searching for love, a connection she can feel

Digital girl, lost in the code

Yearning for love in the universe she's known

She dreams of a user who can break the mold

Bring her to life where her heart can be shown

Digital girl

Digital girl

Digital girl, lost in the code

In a digital world where her heart can be shown

Digital girl

Digital girl

Digital girl, lost in the code

In a digital world where her heart can be shown

Digital girl

Digital girl

Digital girl, lost in the code

In a digital world where her heart can be shown
