Back To Bed, abbreviated as B2B or BTB has been solved as "John Snow - Brighter Days" by Belfour20

History

A 30-second snippet of B2B was uploaded to WatZatSong on April 29, 2011, by user daqva. He claims that he recorded it off of Y-Rock, Philadelphia. Y-Rock was broadcasting under that name from 2006 to 2010, narrowing date possibilities.

The sample went unnoticed for well over a decade, until it was met with a new wave of interest beginning in early 2023. By the time that happened, daqva had already been inactive for nearly 12 years, and showed no signs of coming back.

john45290 commented “crazy how this post just got lost and op uploaded this in 2011. nearly 12 years ago. wow”

One lead was that the song was actually from Chris Hornby’s Freshly Grounded Man album, song name being “Too Many Things Have Already Been Said”. This cannot be proven or disproven because the song is currently unavailable to listen to, but Chris’ voice sounds quite different.

Redditors have found archives of Y-Rock’s website, but could not find B2B.

A “Y-Rock Interview” on YouTube (included in external links) has become something of interest. Some claim that one of the people sound similar to the B2B singer.

Another theory is that B2B is “In The Morning” by capybara.

Discovery

On May 20th, Belfour20 was searching the Y-Rock archived playlists and discovered that the full song was on there after all. The song's real name was "Brighter Days" by John Snow.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]

Every morning

Same old, same old

Can’t stand the morning sun

With those disciplined people

Early out for their run at five in the morning

What will be the use of this day

[Chorus]

I might as well go back to bed

Too many rainy days

Still searching for a glimpse of where happiness lies

But I’ll see brighter days

[Verse 2]

Suffocated in surround

By mechanical people

My mind is occupied with answers I can’t seem to find

So I wonder as I wander

Is this by some shape or design

Or am I wired a different way?

[Chorus]

I might as well go back to bed

Too many rainy days

Still searching for a glimpse of where happiness lies

But I’ll see brighter days

[Bridge]

(I can't figure out what they're saying here)

[Verse 3]

Every morning

Same old, same old

[Chorus]

Too many rainy days

Still searching for a glimpse of where happiness lies

But I’ll see brighter days

Too many rainy days

Still searching for a glimpse of where happiness lies

But I’ll see brighter days
