Background

On July 9, 2015, YouTube user syrocke first uploaded a low-quality version of the song, claiming to have recorded it between 1991 and 1992 from Imprensa Gospel FM,[1] a Brazilian Christian radio station founded by a church named Renascer em Cristo (Reborn in Christ).[2]

The song first gained attention in the Lostwave community on April 28, 2023, when it was reuploaded by YouTube user Jay Kay.[3]

On January 1, 2024, YouTube user "I used adblock to view this" uploaded a significantly higher-quality version of the song, explaining that someone who owns an unspecified website specializing in calypso music was contacted and had a partial higher-quality recording of the song.[4]

Discovery

On February 15, 2025, Discord user randolurker identified the song as "Paradise" by Jubal after they found the song on Discogs.[5][6]
