Somewhere In New York (previously known as "Yo Yo Yo Ja Ja Ja") is a solved lostwave song by synth-pop band Electrafive, which was originally uploaded to WatZatSong by NY80sTapes in 2023.

History

On July 17th, 2023, WatZatSong user NY80sTapes posted the song as a 16-second snippet with no additional information.^[1] Based on the OP's other found songs, this song was most likely recorded from a New York or New Jersey radio station between 1980 and 1986,^[2] and it may have originally released between 1977 and 1985.^[3]

The song first received attention in May 2024, when it was reuploaded to r/lostwave by user Unlucky-Show-3708^[4] and YouTube by user VisualConfusion.^[5]

Discovery

On June 22nd, 2024, the song was identified as Somewhere In New York by Electrafive after Discord user Bloost Media searched "Mitternachtsmusik 1981" on YouTube in an attempt to find a different NY80sTapes song.^[6]
