Sign System

Sign System was a 1980s synth band that produced one album in 1985 and a couple of EPs. They became a lead in the The Most Mysterious Song search due to similarities in synths.

Communication with the Band

Sign System caught the attention of TMS searchers due to some stylistic similarities in their music to that of TMS, especially in regards to synth chords. The track Stay with Me from 1984 prompted this investigation.

Christoph Aengenheyster, the drummer for both the band Deo and Sign System was contacted on Discord, where he had responded to inquiries by suggesting that TMS sounded familiar, although he hadn't provided further details​​.

While this lead has not been debunked fully, it is seen as largely a dead lead by the community.
