Girl Talk is a supposedly unknown song uploaded by Fit_Dealer5592 on February 18th 2024. As soon as it was posted, there was immediate speculation it was created by AI and that Fit_Dealer5592 had created a hoax.

On February 18th 2024, Fit_Dealer5592 posted a 12 second snippet of a song labeled Girl Talk to r/lostwave which had apparently been from a CD dated around 2015. Initial comments seemed to be interested in the search and genuinely suggested similar artists but some questioned why a song from a CD would be posted as a snippet rather than in full.
Hoax Discussion
Around the time that Girl Talk was posted, the community became aware that Above the Clouds had been a hoax and there was more discussion of the possibility of Digital Girl being a hoax and the use of AI to fabricate unknown songs. Girl Talk came under question by users Minish and Fxoe, who compared the snippet to the output of Riffusion AI. The 12 second AI snippets had clear similar quirks to that of Girl Talk.
Fit_Dealer5592 was contacted about the connection to AI and confessed, saying they had been harassed for creating the song and wanted it to be over and done with. This prompted discussion about the growing toxicity of the community and how harrasment of any user will not be condoned or tolerated.
